Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

Overview

Curo is a macOS application that helps you get instant AI-powered answers from screenshots. We take your privacy seriously, especially given the sensitive nature of screen capture functionality. This policy explains what data we collect, how we process it, and your rights.

Screenshot & Image Data

Key Point:

Screenshots you capture are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently on our servers.

  • Screenshots are transmitted securely via HTTPS to our AI processing service.
  • Images are processed in memory and discarded immediately after generating a response.
  • We do not train AI models on your screenshots or queries.
  • Conversation history is stored locally on your device only.

AI Processing

Curo uses Claude AI (by Anthropic) via AWS Bedrock for image analysis. When you ask a question:

  • Your screenshot and question are sent to AWS Bedrock in the US East region.
  • AWS Bedrock processes the request without retaining your data for training purposes.
  • Responses are streamed back to you in real-time.

For more details on AWS Bedrock's data handling, see AWS Bedrock FAQ.

Account & Usage Data

To provide the service, we collect:

  • Account information: Email address (if you create an account for Pro features).
  • Usage metrics: Number of queries made (for rate limiting and billing).
  • Anonymous analytics: App version, macOS version, general usage patterns (via privacy-respecting analytics).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Security

  • All data transmission uses TLS 1.3 encryption.
  • API keys and credentials are stored securely in macOS Keychain.
  • We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Export your conversation history from the app.
  • Opt out of anonymous analytics in app settings.

Web Demo

The interactive demo on this website captures a portion of the webpage (not your actual screen) and processes it using the same AI service. The same privacy protections apply: images are processed in real-time and not stored. We use IP-based rate limiting to prevent abuse.

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of Curo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
